Revenue generated by Kazakhstan's air transport enterprises from passenger services reached a significant milestone in 2025, totaling 918.1 billion tenge. This figure represents a substantial 12.2% increase compared to the previous year and is more than five times higher than the revenue recorded in 2020. The positive trend continued into the new year, with January 2026 revenues climbing by 12.5% to reach 71.2 billion tenge.

The cost of air travel for passengers has shown a complex dynamic. In January 2026, the price of economy-class tickets saw an 11.8% decrease compared to December 2025, a pattern consistent with typical seasonal fluctuations observed in previous years. The annual peak for ticket prices traditionally occurs between May and July.

Despite this monthly dip, a longer-term view reveals a sharp upward trend. When measured on an annual basis against January 2025, airfares in January 2026 surged by a remarkable 29.9%. This increase marks the highest year-on-year price growth recorded over the past five years.

In parallel with these market developments, new regulations concerning ticket data corrections came into effect at the start of 2026. Under these updated rules, passengers are no longer required to pay fees for minor typographical errors in their surname, first name, or patronymic when correcting information on their tickets.
