Putin and Mirziyoyev Discuss Strategic Partnership and Joint Projects

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with his Uzbek counterpart, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During the call, President Putin extended his congratulations to the President and all citizens of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the spring holiday of Navruz.
The leaders reviewed the progress of several major joint initiatives spanning key economic sectors. Their discussion focused on collaborative projects in nuclear energy, industrial production, and transportation infrastructure.
Notably, they highlighted recent milestones in bilateral cooperation. In Uzbekistan, concrete pouring has commenced at the construction site for a nuclear power plant based on a Russian design. Furthermore, on March 16, a third copper processing plant was inaugurated at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex. This new facility is equipped with machinery from leading Russian engineering companies.
The presidents also exchanged views on pressing international issues. Their dialogue covered the situation in the Middle East and matters related to the conflict in Ukraine.
Following their conversation, both sides agreed to continue active joint efforts aimed at comprehensively strengthening the strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Uzbekistan.
