Maulen Ashimbayev, the Speaker of the Senate of Kazakhstan, has cast his vote in the nationwide referendum on adopting a new Constitution. He voted at a polling station located in the National Library building in Astana.

Ashimbayev emphasized the historical significance of the referendum, stating that every vote plays a special role in determining the future direction of the country's development. He noted that this campaign provides citizens with a direct opportunity to participate in decisions of national importance.

The Senate Speaker called on all citizens to actively participate in the referendum and contribute to making this crucial decision concerning the nation's fate. He also remarked that the constitutional referendum practically implements the principle of a "Listening State."

The referendum is being held across Kazakhstan on March 15th, with voting hours from 07:00 to 20:00 local time, unless specific territorial commissions have set different times for citizens' convenience.

The ballot contains a single question: "Do you accept the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the draft of which was published in mass media on February 12, 2026?"
