Astana Votes in Constitutional Referendum Amid City-Wide Festival Atmosphere
@TengriNews
Astana is witnessing a high turnout for the nationwide referendum on the new Constitution draft. From early morning, polling stations across the capital have been busy, with many residents arriving to vote as entire families.
A striking example of generational continuity was seen at one station, where three generations of the Akhmetov family—grandfather, father, and grandson—cast their votes together. This moment was highlighted as a symbol of family unity and citizens' responsible approach to their country's future.

The day also featured some unusual voters. At one location, a young activist arrived in a white lab coat and house slippers, accompanied by a robotic dog. She completed registration and deposited her ballot into the voting box.
Members of Astana's winter swimming clubs also made their choice. Their morning began with the traditional icy swim in the Yesil River. Following their invigorating routine, the group proceeded in an organized manner to their local polling station to participate in the vote.

Across all districts of the capital, festive events have been organized at polling stations. For residents, there are fairs and photo zones, alongside concert programs featuring creative groups, creating a genuine city-wide holiday atmosphere.
Following an established tradition on voting day, special attention is paid to first-time voters at the stations. Pleasant surprises have been prepared for them. This initiative aims to encourage active civic engagement and participation in this significant socio-political event.
