The government of Kazakhstan has allocated 1.1 billion tenge from its reserve fund to the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of the Caspian Sea. The funds are designated for a comprehensive study and preservation program for the sea, aimed at maintaining the region's ecological sustainability.

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov signed the corresponding resolution, which outlines the specific use of the financing. The primary goal is to enhance the scientific capabilities of the institute.

The allocated money will be used to purchase specialized equipment for conducting marine monitoring and to upgrade hydrobiological and hydrochemical laboratories. This investment will enable the research institute to transition to comprehensive, on-site monitoring directly in the sea's waters.

This expanded monitoring will include systematic observations of hydrometeorological and biological environmental parameters. The initiative is expected to significantly broaden the scientifically grounded database concerning processes within Kazakhstan's sector of the Caspian Sea.

To develop effective measures for preservation, the institute is actively integrating into the international scientific community. It has recently joined the Association of Universities and Research Centers of Caspian Countries.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has been tasked with implementing all necessary measures outlined in this resolution. Concurrently, the Ministry of Finance is instructed to ensure strict control over the targeted use of these budgetary funds.
