Fire Engulfs Roof of Astana Building on Gastello Street

A significant fire broke out in a two-story building in Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, on Monday, prompting a major emergency response.

The blaze, located on N. Gastello Street in the Baikonur district, was met by city fire crews who immediately initiated firefighting operations at an elevated difficulty level. Preliminary reports indicate there were no casualties.

First responders arrived to find the building's roof fully engulfed in flames. To combat the emergency, a firefighting headquarters was established and three combat sectors were deployed at the scene.

Specialists ensured a continuous water supply for the operation while gas and smoke protection services conducted reconnaissance inside the burning structure. During the response, eight gas cylinders were safely evacuated from the premises to minimize additional risks.
