Poland Scrambles Fighter Jets and AWACS Following Russian Attack on Ukraine

@UlysMedia
Polish military forces have been placed on high alert in response to a large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine. The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces announced that "work by Polish and allied aviation has begun in the airspace."
The country has repeatedly taken similar measures following previous strikes on Ukrainian territory. According to the command, combat air patrol fighters and an Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft have been scrambled.
Ground-based air defense systems and radar reconnaissance units have also been brought to their highest state of readiness. The military emphasized that these actions are preventive and aimed at ensuring the protection of Polish airspace, particularly in areas adjacent to potentially threatened territories.
This heightened alert follows a significant incident on the night of September 9-10, 2025, when up to 23 Russian drones violated the airspace of Poland, a NATO member state. That event prompted urgent debates in the European Parliament regarding the deliberate violation of Polish sovereignty.
