During an official visit of a Kazakh parliamentary delegation to Uzbekistan, the Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, held talks with her counterpart, the Chairman of the Senate of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev.

The discussions focused on deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation and expanding bilateral ties across political, economic, and humanitarian spheres. The leaders emphasized that relations between the two nations have reached a level of strategic partnership and alliance, a result of the consistent policies pursued by their countries' leadership.

Cultural and humanitarian collaboration received special attention. The parties highlighted their shared historical roots, spiritual values, and traditions of good neighborliness. In this context, they noted the importance of the upcoming Second Forum of Scientific and Creative Intelligentsia of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan as a key platform for dialogue between scientists and cultural figures.

The meeting also addressed enhanced inter-parliamentary interaction within multilateral formats. As an example, they cited the first "Central Asia – European Union" inter-parliamentary forum held in Samarkand.

Cooperation within the framework of the Dialogue of Women Leaders from Central Asian countries was another topic on the agenda. It was noted that Uzbekistan currently chairs this platform for 2024 and plans to host its next meeting in Bukhara, alongside a second Asian Women's Forum.

Furthermore, it was confirmed that Samarkand will host the XII Global Forum of Young Parliamentarians in September this year.

Following the talks, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening allied relations, expanding inter-parliamentary dialogue, and implementing joint initiatives.
