CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Calls for Restraint and Peaceful Resolution in Middle East

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has issued a formal statement addressing the escalating situation in the Middle East and around the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Council of the Assembly called on all parties involved to exercise maximum restraint and to refrain from any actions that could further destabilize the region. It emphasized that the use of force is unacceptable.

"We call for the settlement of existing contradictions exclusively by peaceful means, through dialogue, mutual respect, and consideration of the interests of all sides," the statement reads. The body stressed that any resolution must be based on universally recognized principles and norms of international law, as well as the UN Charter.

The declaration underscored an urgent need to take immediate measures to counter threats to international peace and security. Furthermore, it explicitly affirmed support for Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"We emphasize the necessity of ensuring Iran's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. We declare our solidarity with, and support for, the government and people of Iran,"

In a humanitarian gesture, the Parliamentary Assembly also extended its condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives in recent events.
