The death toll from the devastating explosion at the "Plov Center" cafe in Shchuchinsk has risen to eleven after two more victims succumbed to their injuries. The head of the Akmola region's healthcare department, Nariman Yermek, confirmed the deaths on Monday, March 9.

Despite exhaustive efforts by medical teams, both patients were in extremely critical condition and could not be saved. One victim passed away on March 8 in the intensive care unit of the Avicenna-Burabay hospital. A female patient died a day later, on March 9, while undergoing treatment at the multidisciplinary regional hospital in Kokshetau.

Doctors continue to fight for the lives of other individuals injured in the blast. Medical assistance is being provided in full, utilizing all necessary personnel and technical resources available.

The tragedy occurred on the night of February 26-27 at the "Plov Center" cafe. The initial explosion of a gas-air mixture claimed seven lives—five people died at the scene, and two others passed away in hospital shortly after. Several days later, two more victims died from their wounds.

The recent deaths of these two patients bring the final number of fatalities from this incident to eleven people.
