A special fund established to support educational infrastructure has financed the construction and renovation of schools across Kazakhstan, creating tens of thousands of new student places. The fund, created in 2023 on the instruction of the Head of State, is replenished with assets confiscated from individuals convicted of corruption.
The primary goal of this initiative is to address the critical shortage of school places nationwide. To date, funding has enabled the commissioning of 81 new schools with a total capacity for nearly 89,000 students.
Most of these new educational facilities are located in regions with high demand: Almaty, Turkestan, Kyzylorda, and Zhambyl oblasts, as well as in the capital city of Astana. All newly built schools are equipped with modern facilities to provide a comfortable and contemporary learning environment.
In total, the Education Infrastructure Support Fund has financed 90 educational projects designed to accommodate almost 100,000 students. This comprehensive approach aims not only to solve immediate capacity issues but also to ensure the long-term development and modernization of the country's entire education system.
