Kazakhstan Launches 6% Subsidized Loan Program for Livestock Farmers

@МСХ РК
The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan has launched a new subsidized lending program to support the development of the country's livestock sector. The initiative offers farmers an annual interest rate of just 6%.
The program is part of a broader Comprehensive Plan for Livestock Development for 2026–2030, which was developed by the ministry following a directive from the Head of State. The plan aims to increase livestock numbers, boost productivity, develop processing capacities, and expand export potential for livestock products.
The new financing scheme provides several favorable conditions for agricultural producers. In addition to the low 6% annual rate, it offers flexible loan terms tailored to the specific needs and cycles of livestock farming. Farmers can access these funds through branches of the Agrarian Credit Corporation, credit partnerships, and second-tier banks.
Borrowed funds are intended to be used for specific purposes that directly contribute to sector growth. These include purchasing herds of farm animals and developing or modernizing feedlots and fattening facilities.
The launch of this subsidized lending is expected to become a key instrument of state support for farmers. Authorities anticipate it will provide significant additional momentum for the development and modernization of animal husbandry across Kazakhstan.
