@TengriNews
A powerful mud volcano eruption has rocked the municipality of San Juan de Urabá in Colombia's Antioquia department. The event, which occurred near a municipal water treatment plant and residential areas, has prompted local authorities to initiate evacuations in nearby settlements.
Dramatic footage from the scene shows a massive column of mud and debris erupting from the volcano's vent, reaching a significant height into the air. While officials have confirmed no injuries resulting directly from the eruption, infrastructure damage has been reported.
The main road leading to the Siete Vueltas area sustained damage. Furthermore, eyewitness accounts shared on social media describe ground fissures and cracked asphalt several kilometers away from the primary eruption site.
Emergency services and local agencies are currently on-site, working to assess the full extent of the geological event's impact. The situation remains under active evaluation as response efforts continue.
