Uzbekistan and Russia Discuss Strategic Partnership and Nuclear Power Plant Construction

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks on April 15 with a Russian delegation led by Sergei Kiriyenko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Russian representative conveyed greetings and best wishes to the Uzbek leader from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The parties reviewed issues related to implementing agreements reached at the highest level, focusing on deepening Uzbek-Russian relations of strategic partnership and alliance.
The high intensity of bilateral contacts across a wide range of areas was noted during the discussions. Participants highlighted steady growth in mutual trade turnover, implementation of significant industrial cooperation projects, and expansion of cultural and humanitarian interaction.
Special attention was paid to practical implementation progress for constructing Uzbekistan's first integrated nuclear power plant, along with developing cooperation in peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
Following negotiations, agreements were reached to intensify collaboration in digital technologies, youth and information policy, media development, and support for civil initiatives.
