Uzbek and Russian Officials Discuss Strategic Partnership and Nuclear Power Plant Project

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks on April 15 with a delegation from the Russian Federation led by Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of Russia.
The Russian representative began the meeting by conveying greetings and best wishes to the Uzbek leader from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The parties reviewed the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, focusing on deepening Uzbek-Russian relations of strategic partnership and alliance. The discussions highlighted the high intensity of bilateral contacts across a wide range of areas.
A steady growth in mutual trade, the implementation of significant industrial cooperation projects, and an expansion of cultural and humanitarian interaction were underscored as key positive trends.
Special attention was paid to the practical progress in constructing Uzbekistan's first integrated nuclear power plant. Cooperation in the peaceful use of atomic energy was also a central topic.
Following the negotiations, agreements were reached to intensify collaboration in several new fields. These include digital technologies, youth and information policy, as well as developing mass media and supporting civil initiatives.
