President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with King Abdullah II of Jordan on March 4. The leaders focused on the critical situation in the Middle East and prospects for bilateral cooperation.

During the discussion, both sides expressed deep concern over the sharp escalation of tensions in the region observed in recent days. They emphasized that this escalation seriously undermines regional security and stability, causing tangible damage to interstate relations.

The leaders stressed the urgent need to cease any actions threatening state sovereignty, peace, and the safety of citizens, especially during the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims worldwide. They confirmed that resolving existing conflicts and issues exclusively through peaceful and diplomatic means is the only viable path forward.

President Mirziyoyev expressed solidarity and support for Jordan's leadership and people during these difficult times. In turn, King Abdullah II conveyed his deep gratitude to the Uzbek leader for his friendly attitude and sincere words of support.

Concluding the call, King Abdullah expressed firm confidence that an upcoming historic high-level visit to Amman would mark a successful and fruitful stage in developing bilateral relations between their nations.
