Kazakh President Tokayev Meets Turkish VP, Announces Erdogan's State Visit

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan held a meeting with Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz of Turkey in Astana. This visit marks Yılmaz's first official trip to Kazakhstan.
Welcoming the Turkish delegation, President Tokayev emphasized the strategic nature of the partnership between the two nations. He stated that fraternal ties of mutual trust and respect bind Kazakhstan and Turkey.
"Over nearly 35 years since establishing diplomatic relations, our cooperation has progressively developed and reached a qualitatively new level," Tokayev said. "There are no contradictions or disagreements between Kazakhstan and Turkey."
The President announced a significant upcoming diplomatic event: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is scheduled to pay a state visit to Kazakhstan on May 14. The program for the visit includes convening another session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council and signing a package of new bilateral agreements.
Tokayev also expressed confidence that the results of today's Intergovernmental Commission meeting in Astana, co-chaired by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and the Turkish Vice President, will contribute to further strengthening the multifaceted strategic partnership between the two countries.
