First Week of US-Israel Strikes on Iran Cost $6 Billion, Reports Say
@TengriNews
The first week of the joint US and Israel military operation against Iran cost Washington approximately $6 billion, according to reports. The ultimate objective or definition of victory in this conflict remains unclear.
Pentagon officials reportedly informed the US Congress this week that expenses for the initial seven days of combat operations reached around $6 billion. Of this sum, roughly $4 billion was spent on munitions, including interceptor missiles used to counter retaliatory strikes from Iran.
The campaign has involved extensive strikes. Since the conflict began, American and Israeli forces have conducted approximately four thousand strikes on targets within Iran. These have included ballistic missile sites, military headquarters, and naval facilities.
Despite this massive aerial bombardment, Tehran is assessed to retain a significant portion of its military capabilities. Based on estimates presented to Congress in closed-door briefings by US officials, Iran still possesses about half of its missile arsenal and a substantial number of drones.
A website titled "Cost of the Iran War" has been tracking the financial toll of the US operation in real time since hostilities began in the Middle East. As of March 8th, total expenditures had surpassed $8 billion.
