Iran's top military commander has issued a stark warning to the United States, stating that any conflict initiated by Washington would escalate into a full-scale regional war. Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, characterized recent threats from U.S. President Donald Trump as "reckless" and unbecoming of a world leader.

The general's comments echo the firm stance Iran demonstrated in January, which analysts believe led President Trump to abandon planned military strikes. At that time, Iranian officials made it unequivocally clear that a limited American attack would not receive a proportional response but would instead trigger a broader confrontation. The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, emphasized that any future conflict would inevitably become regional in scope.

Military analysts predict that in such a scenario, Iran would target U.S. Bases across the Middle East, aim attacks directly at American personnel, and move to close the critical Strait of Hormuz to shipping. Furthermore, Iran's allied forces in Yemen, Lebanon, and Iraq have indicated they would join any war in support of Tehran.

Despite entering nuclear negotiations in early February after scrapping his war plans, President Trump has continued to issue threats against Iran. He has pointed to U.S. Aircraft carriers deployed near the Persian Gulf as tools to force "bad things" should Iran refuse to agree to a new nuclear deal. The prospects for an agreement hinge largely on Washington's willingness to respect Iran's stated "red lines" concerning its nuclear program and Tehran's refusal to discuss non-nuclear matters.

General Mousavi questioned the sincerity of the U.S. Approach, asking why Trump speaks of negotiations while simultaneously threatening war. The general concluded with a direct message: "Trump should know that he would be entering a cautionary battle—the outcome of which would ensure he no longer engages in bluster and saber-rattling on the world stage."
