Kristina Shumekova Wins World Allround Title with Four Medals

Kazakhstani speed skater Kristina Shumekova has clinched the title of absolute world champion at the World Championships in Inzell, Germany. Her historic achievement was sealed with a silver medal in the 3000-meter race, completing a full set of four medals from the competition.

Shumekova finished the 3000 meters with a time of 4:03.99, securing second place. This silver added to her three gold medals previously won at these championships in the 500, 1000, and 1500-meter events.

With this complete collection of victories across all distances, Shumekova amassed a total of 156.001 points in the allround classification, earning her the coveted title of world allround champion. This marks the first time an athlete from Kazakhstan has accomplished such a feat in speed skating.
