US Intelligence Assesses China's Development of Next-Generation Nuclear Arms
@TengriNews
American intelligence agencies have assessed that China is actively developing a new generation of nuclear weapons, according to a report. The findings suggest Beijing is pursuing advanced technologies to modernize its strategic arsenal.
The assessments reportedly point to a test conducted in June 2020 as evidence of this push. US intelligence believes the aim of these efforts is to transform China's nuclear capability into one of the world's most technologically sophisticated.
Among the alleged developments is a new missile system designed to carry multiple, independently targetable nuclear warheads. Furthermore, the report indicates China is working on tactical, low-yield nuclear weapons, a type of armament it has not previously possessed.
The Chinese Embassy in Washington has strongly rejected these claims. In a statement, embassy officials accused the United States of distorting and smearing China's nuclear policy for political purposes. They labeled the allegations as political manipulation and stated that China firmly opposes such narratives.
The embassy also denied that any recent nuclear test had taken place, calling the assertions groundless. It further accused US officials of fabricating pretexts to justify resuming their own nuclear testing programs. Meanwhile, American officials have indicated that the administration aims to bring China into future arms control negotiations.
