Kazakhstan Issues Travel Warning for Middle East, Halts Tourism Codes

@МТИ РК
Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong recommendation for its citizens to refrain from traveling to Middle Eastern countries. The advisory is in effect until active hostilities cease and the situation normalizes, citing significant restrictions on airspace in the region.
The country's diplomatic missions in the relevant states have been placed on an enhanced operational regime. They are providing necessary consular and legal assistance to Kazakh citizens on the ground.
Authorities are updating lists of citizens currently in the region, including those in transit zones. Operational chat groups have been established in messengers where compatriots can receive answers to their questions and up-to-date information on the evolving situation.
Tour operators participating in the system guaranteeing the rights of Kazakh tourists are covering accommodation costs for organized tourists in hotels. Measures and routes for a potential evacuation of citizens from escalation zones are being developed.
Separately, "Touristik Kamkor," the administrator of Kazakhstan's System for Guaranteeing Citizens' Rights in Outbound Tourism, has suspended the issuance of tour codes for trips to several Middle Eastern nations since February 28th. The affected countries include Iran, Israel, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and Oman.
These restrictions are temporary and will remain until the situation stabilizes and tourist safety is confirmed—pending a separate official decision. Tourist companies have been advised to temporarily refrain from forming or selling tour packages to these destinations until further notice.
A critical note: For tourists departing to Middle Eastern countries after February 28th, the protections of the Guarantee System will not apply.
Travelers with questions about canceling or postponing tours, as well as refunds, are advised to contact the travel agencies where their tour package was purchased. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
