Kazakhstan Joins Peace Council Without Mandatory Financial Contribution
@TengriNews
Kazakhstan has become a full member of the Peace Council without making any obligatory financial contribution. The country's accession aligns with its national interests and foreign policy course focused on developing dialogue, supporting international security, and strengthening multilateral cooperation.
An official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that joining the council was a timely initiative aimed at achieving practical and swift results. He emphasized that peace should be built not through meaningless declarations but through concrete steps.
Addressing questions about funding, the representative clarified that Kazakhstan did not pay any fee upon entry. He noted that a voluntary contribution of one billion dollars mentioned in the charter is not a membership requirement but a right of each participant.
Commenting on publications about a possible military contingent being sent to Gaza, the official urged reliance on verified sources. He stated that Kazakhstan's involvement is exclusively humanitarian in nature.
The country is ready to support international stabilization forces by sending medical units with a field hospital and observers from a civil-military coordination center. Furthermore, Kazakhstan plans to provide humanitarian food aid, allocate 500 educational grants for Palestinian students at its universities for five years, and share its expertise in e-government.
In February, during the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council, gratitude was expressed to all participants for their contribution to collective efforts aimed at ensuring sustainable stability and promoting recovery in Gaza. Kazakhstan was described as a beautiful and wealthy country.
The Peace Council, established on the initiative of the United States, is designed to oversee strategy, mobilize international resources, and monitor commitments for Gaza's peaceful development. Kazakhstan's President signed the council's charter in January after receiving an official invitation to join as one of its founding states.
