Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Kazakhstan, Dorjiin Bayarkhuu, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in the agro-industrial complex.
The meeting highlighted that the state visit of the Kazakh President to Mongolia in 2024 gave new impetus to bilateral relations. Two memorandums were signed as a result: one on cooperation in leather and wool processing, and another in the field of veterinary medicine. "This confirms the mutual commitment of our countries to deepening cooperation in the agricultural sector," emphasized Aidarbek Saparov.
It was noted that mutual trade in agricultural products increased by 32% in 2025, reaching $30 million. This growth indicates positive dynamics in economic ties.
The parties paid special attention to further increasing trade turnover and diversifying supplies. Veterinary services have already agreed on certificates for exporting breeding cattle, table eggs, poultry meat, as well as commercial and breeding sheep and goats from Kazakhstan.
An initiative to import cashmere goats from Mongolia into Kazakhstan is being developed. Representatives of Kazakhstan's Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee are currently in Mongolia on an inspection visit to study the epizootic situation and work out veterinary cooperation details.
Ambassador Dorjiin Bayarkhuu expressed interest in further expanding agricultural cooperation with Kazakhstan, noting significant potential for increasing mutual trade, developing cooperation in livestock product processing, and strengthening veterinary interaction.
Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and implement the agreements reached.
