A separate exit poll by the IKSI "Sotsis-A" institute showed similar results, with 87.4 percent of surveyed voters supporting the constitutional amendments. This poll recorded a turnout of 73.8 percent, with a stated statistical margin of error of ±1.5 percent.

The referendum took place on March 15th, with polling stations across the country open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM local time. All Kazakh citizens over the age of 18 who were included in voter lists—totaling 12,461,796 people—were eligible to participate.

Nationwide, 10,388 polling stations were operational, with an additional 71 stations opened at Kazakh diplomatic missions in 54 countries. Voting began earlier, at 6:00 AM, at 92 special stations, primarily located in military units.

By 10:00 AM, over 2.3 million citizens had cast their ballots, representing a turnout rate of just over 19 percent among eligible voters. This figure rose to nearly 4.7 million (37.54%) by noon and surpassed the required threshold for validity by mid-afternoon.

The Central Referendum Commission declared the referendum valid after participation exceeded six million people by 2:00 PM, achieving a turnout rate of over half of all registered voters (51.93%). Voter activity continued throughout the day.

By the close of polls at 8:00 PM, preliminary data indicated that approximately nine million people had participated nationwide. The Central Commission recorded a final preliminary voter turnout figure of about three-quarters (73.24%) of all eligible citizens.

The official results are expected to be announced no later than March 21st.
