Kazakhstan Climbs Global Clean Energy Investment Ranking

@МЭ РК
Kazakhstan has demonstrated significant progress in the international Climatescope ranking, which assesses countries' attractiveness for clean energy investments. The nation has risen from 54th place in 2017 to 24th place in 2025 among emerging markets, reflecting active development in renewable energy and an improved investment climate.
This advancement is driven by a substantial increase in investments into renewable energy projects. Kazakhstan is actively implementing policies to support renewables, including auctions and guaranteed purchases of "green" electricity.
The country is taking major strides toward developing its clean energy sector. Growing investor interest and improving market conditions indicate that Kazakhstan is becoming a regional leader in attracting capital for low-carbon technologies.
Global giants such as TotalEnergies, China Power, Masdar, and China Energy have entered the Kazakh market. In the long term up to 2035, the country plans to commission over 8 GW of renewable energy capacity. This will enhance the resilience of the national power grid and diversify the energy balance.
The Climatescope index evaluates countries based on key indicators: investment levels, infrastructure, political support, and market opportunities. Kazakhstan shows a consistent positive trend across all these metrics, opening new prospects for developing a green economy and implementing international projects.
