Kazakhstan Launches Central Asia's First Full-Cycle Humanoid Robot Factory

Kazakhstan has launched the first industrial-scale humanoid robot production facility in Central Asia. The project is spearheaded by the newly established joint venture QAZBOT Technologies Ltd.

The founding agreement was signed on April 1 between Kazakh companies ISS Evergreen Capital and Aurora Holding, and the international robotics firm Agibot, a global leader and one of the fastest-growing producers of humanoid robotic systems.

The joint venture, QAZBOT Technologies Ltd, is conceived as an integrated Robotics & AI Hub. It will serve as a central platform for developing, manufacturing, and deploying human-like robotic solutions across Central Asia.

The company stated that the project aims to establish a new technological industry in the region. It encompasses the entire product creation cycle—from data collection and processing to AI algorithm development, industrial assembly, implementation, and maintenance of robotic systems.

"The primary application areas will be government and financial services, medical and social infrastructure, transportation and smart cities, as well as service industries and tourism. QAZBOT robots are designed for direct interaction with humans and performing practical tasks in real-world environments," emphasized company representatives.

A key component of the project involves building a scientific and technical base within Kazakhstan. This includes launching joint research initiatives, educational programs, and training engineering personnel. During a recent visit, project representatives held talks with Kazakhstan's Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry (formerly Ministry of Artificial Intelligence) and the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) at Nazarbayev University.

"In the context of accelerating embodied AI development, Kazakhstan is building its own technological competence and infrastructure—transitioning from being a consumer of technology to becoming its creator," added company officials.

The agreement establishes an exclusive partnership: QAZBOT Technologies becomes Agibot's sole partner in Central Asia. This solidifies Kazakhstan's position as a foundational platform for localizing and scaling robotics technology throughout the region.

The company believes this launch reflects a global trend—moving from experimental development to scalable integration of humanoid robots into various economic sectors. The creation of QAZBOT Technologies lays the groundwork for establishing a new regional industry at the intersection of robotics, artificial intelligence, and industrial manufacturing. It also opens opportunities for exporting these solutions to markets across Central Asia and neighboring countries.
