Kazakhstan Joins Peace Council Without Mandatory Financial Contributions
@TengriNews
Kazakhstan has become a full member of the Peace Council without being required to make any obligatory financial contributions. The country's accession aligns with its national interests and foreign policy course focused on developing dialogue, supporting international security, and strengthening multilateral cooperation.
The President of Kazakhstan characterized the move as a timely initiative aimed at achieving practical and swift results. He emphasized that peace should be built not through meaningless declarations but through concrete steps.
Addressing questions about funding, an official clarified that Kazakhstan did not pay any fee to join. The charter mentions a voluntary contribution of one billion dollars, but this is not a condition for membership; it is the right of each participant.
Commenting on publications about a possible military contingent being sent to Gaza, officials urged reliance on official sources. They stated the discussion pertains solely to humanitarian components.
The Head of State announced Kazakhstan's readiness to support international stabilization forces by sending medical units with a field hospital and observers from a civil-military coordination center.
Furthermore, Kazakhstan is prepared to provide humanitarian food aid, allocate 500 educational grants for Palestinian students at Kazakh universities for five years, and share its experience in e-government.
In February, during the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council, former US President Donald Trump expressed sincere gratitude to all participants for their contribution to collective efforts aimed at ensuring sustainable stability and promoting recovery in Gaza. Presenting the leaders of member countries, he described Kazakhstan as a beautiful and wealthy nation.
The Peace Council was established on the initiative of Donald Trump. In January, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed its charter after receiving an official invitation for Kazakhstan to become one of the founding states. According to Washington's concept, the Council will be responsible for strategic oversight, mobilizing international resources, and monitoring commitments for Gaza's peaceful development.
