Kazakhstan Launches Evacuation Flights for Citizens from Middle East

The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, in coordination with other state bodies and domestic and foreign carriers, is conducting an operation to evacuate Kazakh citizens from Middle Eastern countries.

The first flights have already been completed. On March 3, the airline FlyDubai operated two flights on the routes Dubai – Astana and Dubai – Almaty, transporting a total of 306 passengers (151 and 155 respectively).

Air Astana is currently performing scheduled evacuation flights from Saudi Arabia. Two flights are being operated from Medina on Airbus A320 aircraft with a total capacity of 290 seats, and two flights from Jeddah on Airbus A321 aircraft with a total capacity of 339 seats.

SCAT Airlines has scheduled a flight Almaty – Muscat (Oman) – Almaty to evacuate citizens on a Boeing-767 (290 seats). The flight is planned to depart from Almaty at 19:00 local time.

Carriers plan to continue performing evacuation flights for Kazakh citizens, taking into account the current situation in the Middle East.

A round-the-clock call center has been organized based at Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan JSC: +7 7172 77 98 21, +7 7172 79 82 13, +7 7172 79 82 14.

For flight status inquiries, passengers are advised to contact their airlines directly. Contact numbers have been provided for Air Astana, FlyArystan, SCAT Airlines, Qazaq Air, as well as the international airports in Astana and Almaty.

Passengers are also recommended to check for updates with Kazakhstan's diplomatic missions in Middle Eastern countries. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published an extensive list of contact numbers for its embassies and consulates across the region, including in Iran (Tehran), Jordan, UAE (Dubai), Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Bahrain, and Israel.

The Ministry of Transport stated it is continuously monitoring the situation together with relevant agencies and airlines to coordinate all necessary measures.
