During a meeting of the Interparliamentary Cooperation Council between the Mazhilis of Kazakhstan's Parliament and the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, key areas for collaboration were discussed, with a significant focus on tourism development.

The Chairman of the Mazhilis, Yerlan Koshanov, emphasized that Kazakhstan places special importance on strengthening its centuries-old friendship and good neighborly relations with Uzbekistan. He highlighted the significance of advancing cooperation in tourism alongside culture and education.

A particular emphasis was placed on the joint development of regional tourism. A signed Action Plan for 2026–2027 aims to create a common tourist space and attract foreign visitors to both countries.

Talgat Gazizov, Chairman of the Board of Kazakh Tourism, noted that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan already receive more than half of all tourists visiting Central Asia. He added that demand for cross-border travel routes between the two nations continues to grow steadily.
