During the international Grow Expo exhibition, representatives from Kazakhstan and the Netherlands held high-level talks to enhance cooperation in plant health and safety. The meeting was attended by Saken Kanybekov, Chairman of the State Inspection Committee in the Agro-Industrial Complex of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture, and a Dutch delegation led by Lianne Kersbergen, Deputy Chief Phytosanitary Inspector of the Netherlands' Ministry of Agriculture.
The discussions focused on key aspects of phytosanitary security for trade in regulated goods. The parties examined measures to ensure compliance with importing countries' requirements, improve control procedures for certification, and effectively manage phytosanitary risks associated with agricultural product exchange.
Both sides emphasized the critical importance of coordinated action between their competent authorities. A primary shared goal is preventing the spread of quarantine pests and harmful organisms while maintaining stable supplies of agricultural products across borders.
The interaction between the specialized services of the two countries was described as constructive and dynamically developing. This ongoing partnership reflects a high level of mutual trust and a shared interest in safeguarding agricultural sectors.
As part of the visit, the Dutch delegation toured Kazakhstan's Republican Plant Quarantine Center. They familiarized themselves with its technical equipment and observed the operational activities of its laboratories.
Following the meeting, both nations confirmed their readiness to further strengthen institutional cooperation. They committed to continuing a systematic professional dialogue aimed at enhancing phytosanitary controls and facilitating safe agricultural trade.
