During an official visit to Tbilisi, Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev met with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to discuss strengthening bilateral ties. The talks focused on enhancing political dialogue and implementing agreements reached at the highest levels.

The ministers reviewed the current state of Kazakh-Georgian relations across trade, investment, and cultural spheres. They noted that bilateral trade reached $184.5 million in 2025 and agreed on the necessity of taking practical steps to increase this figure further.

Both sides expressed mutual interest in boosting direct investments and launching joint projects in logistics, infrastructure, and commerce. "Kazakhstan is also ready to expand cooperation with Georgia on developing routes in the Caspian-Black Sea basin. In this context, it is important to utilize the capabilities of our countries' seaports for freight transportation," stated Minister Kosherbayev.

A key priority identified was the further development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). Special attention was paid to a project for launching a new multimodal terminal at Georgia's Port of Poti with participation from Kazakh investors.

The planned terminal is expected to increase cargo volumes and serve as a crucial link in the "Middle Corridor" logistics chain. The meeting also covered cooperation in agriculture, tourism, and cultural affairs.

Furthermore, the officials exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues, reaffirming their commitment to deepening the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Georgia.
