Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan Vow to Strengthen Alliance and Deepen Cooperation

Baku, April 8, 2026 – During his official visit to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yermek Kosherbayev, held a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev.

The Kazakh diplomat conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Kosherbayev emphasized that the high level of cooperation between the two nations has been achieved primarily through a trusting dialogue at the highest political level.

He highlighted that recent high-level exchanges have injected new momentum into the bilateral alliance. These include President Tokayev's state visit to Baku in March 2024, President Aliyev's state visit to Astana in October 2025, and the convening of the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council.

"Kazakh-Azerbaijani relations are characterized by stable and progressive development and possess significant potential," stated Minister Kosherbayev. "We express our firm commitment to further comprehensively strengthen our alliance with fraternal Azerbaijan and imbue our cooperation with new substance."

The talks also covered current issues on the international agenda. The officials noted the high level of coordination between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan within multilateral frameworks and underscored the importance of continued joint efforts to strengthen global peace and stability.
