Kazakh President Tokayev Welcomes Iran's Pledge to Avoid Attacking Neighbors
@TengriNews
Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has welcomed a statement from his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian, announcing that Iran's Provisional Leadership Council has decided to refrain from attacks on neighboring countries.
The announcement was relayed by Aibek Smadiyarov, the advisor and press secretary to the Kazakh head of state. "The President of Kazakhstan considers this decision an important measure aimed at easing tensions in the Middle East," Smadiyarov stated.
The development follows a declaration by Iranian media outlets, which published a statement from President Pezeshkian. In it, he asserted that Iran would not attack neighboring countries unless strikes originate from their territories.
Pezeshkian explained that this decision was made by Iran's Provisional Leadership Council. He further emphasized that "the enemy's dreams of surrender will never come true."
This Iranian move comes in the wake of stern conditions set for Tehran by US President Donald Trump. Trump had previously stated that any deal with Iran would be contingent upon its "unconditional surrender."
