Israel Agrees to Two-Week Ceasefire with Iran, Reluctantly
@TengriNews
Israel has consented to a ceasefire and will suspend strikes against Iran for a two-week period. This information was confirmed by a White House representative.
However, according to reports, Israeli officials are concerned about the temporary truce agreement reached between the United States and Iran. A source familiar with the situation stated that while Israel will adhere to the ceasefire in line with the position of U.S. President Donald Trump, it is doing so reluctantly.
The source explained that Israel still has additional targets and objectives it would like to achieve through military action in Iran.
The agreement for a two-week suspension of strikes followed an appeal from Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. President Trump described the arrangement as a bilateral ceasefire. The American leader stated that Washington had received a 10-point proposal from Tehran and considers it a "working basis for negotiations."
For its part, Iran has indicated its readiness to ensure the opening of the Strait of Hormuz for the duration of the two-week truce with the United States. Earlier, the Pakistani Prime Minister had urged Trump to delay any decision on Iran for two weeks and called on Iran to open the strategic Strait as a gesture of goodwill during that period.
