Israel Vows to Escalate Strikes on Iran Despite US Pause

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has declared that Israel will intensify its military strikes against Iran, directly contradicting a recent decision by the United States to pause attacks on Iranian energy infrastructure. This announcement signals a potential divergence in strategy between the two allies amid ongoing regional hostilities.
The Israeli escalation is framed as a direct response to what it describes as waves of Iranian missile barrages. "Our response will be decisive and powerful," Gallant stated, indicating that new strikes have already been launched across the region. Iranian state media has reported nighttime attacks targeting several cities within its borders.
In a stark contrast, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 10-day suspension of planned American strikes on Iran's energy sector, citing ongoing diplomatic negotiations with Tehran. "We are giving diplomacy a chance," the President said, confirming that Washington anticipates receiving a counter-proposal from Iran for conflict resolution by Friday.
The humanitarian toll continues to rise sharply. The Iranian Red Crescent Society reports that the number of fatalities within Iran is nearing 2,000. Meanwhile, Tehran has reportedly mobilized approximately one million military personnel in anticipation of a potential U.S. Ground invasion, a threat underscored by recent maneuvers of a U.S. Air Force C-17A Globemaster III aircraft over the United Arab Emirates.
