IRGC Eliminates Six Jaish al-Adl Militants in Southeastern Iran Ambush

Six members of the Jaish al-Adl terrorist group were killed in an ambush by Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Tuesday night. The operation took place near the border city of Saravan in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan.
The militant group, known in Iran as Jaish-al-Zulm, is notorious for carrying out violent attacks in the country's southeastern border regions. It is considered the successor to Jundullah, an organization dismantled by Iranian security forces in 2010.
This recent clash follows a previous counter-terror operation in Saravan back in August 2025. During that incident, security forces repelled a terrorist assault, killing three armed assailants and capturing four others.
Jaish al-Adl primarily operates within Sistan-Baluchestan province and has been responsible for dozens of deadly attacks targeting both civilians and security personnel over the past two decades. Under its current name and its previous incarnation as Jundullah, the group has claimed hundreds of Iranian lives.
One of its most recent claimed attacks occurred on July 26, 2025, involving mortar and grenade assaults on a courthouse in Zahedan. That attack resulted in civilian casualties, including a mother and her infant, with 22 others injured.
Iranian officials have repeatedly stated that Jaish al-Adl receives backing from foreign intelligence agencies. They have specifically emphasized the involvement of Israel in supporting what they describe as destabilizing activities within Iran's borders.
The province of Sistan-Baluchestan represents a critical and challenging region for Iran's national security. Its location near major international drug trafficking routes and its vulnerability to terrorist infiltration make it a key focus for Tehran's counterterrorism operations.
Despite these persistent challenges, Iranian security forces have managed to demonstrate tactical effectiveness, successfully thwarting numerous cross-border incursions and maintaining a degree of stability in the volatile region.
