Iran Used Advanced Missiles to Evade US Patriot Systems in Qatar Attack
@TengriNews
Iranian forces reportedly employed advanced, maneuverable missiles capable of evading American-made Patriot air defense systems during strikes on gas facilities in Qatar. The attacks targeted the QatarEnergy complex in Ras Laffan on March 18 and 19.
The missile strikes were characterized as a retaliatory response to a prior U.S. And Israeli attack on Iran's South Pars gas field. This exchange is part of an ongoing military campaign that began on February 28, with both sides targeting each other's oil and gas infrastructure.
The escalating conflict has severely disrupted maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global chokepoint for oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments from the Persian Gulf. The near-total halt in shipping has intensified regional tensions.
U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that Washington will destroy Iran's power plants if Tehran does not unblock the vital sea passage. In response, Iran has threatened to completely close the strait and launch counterstrikes against energy and oil infrastructure across the entire region.
