The Iranian Red Crescent has issued a public warning that explosions at oil storage facilities could lead to dangerous acid rain. The organization's rescuers explained that such blasts release large quantities of toxic hydrocarbon compounds, sulfur oxides, and nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere.

"If it starts to rain under these conditions, the precipitation becomes extremely hazardous and possesses strong acidic properties," the statement said. The rescuers emphasized that this phenomenon can cause chemical burns to the skin and inflict serious damage to the lungs.

The warning follows reports of airstrikes targeting Iran's oil infrastructure. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated they had carried out initial aerial strikes, claiming at least 30 oil tanks in Tehran were attacked.

However, Ismail Hosseini, a representative of Iran's parliamentary energy commission, later clarified that only four fuel storage sites were hit. Authorities in Tehran assert there is no threat to the population's fuel supply.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that at least four people have been killed as a result of the strikes on the oil depots.
