Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has declared that Tehran will not accept a ceasefire with the United States and Israel. In an interview, he stated that Iran seeks a complete and permanent resolution to the conflict rather than a temporary halt in hostilities.

"We will not accept a ceasefire. We want a full, comprehensive, and sustainable end to the war," Araghchi emphasized. He clarified that Iran's objective is to achieve a final settlement of the conflict.

In related diplomatic developments, Araghchi indicated Iran's readiness to allow Japan-related vessels passage through the Strait of Hormuz following consultations with Tokyo. He confirmed that discussions on this matter are already underway between the two nations. This is significant for Japan, as over 90% of its crude oil imports originate from the Middle East.

Araghchi previously asserted in a televised appearance that Iran would not back down in its war against the US and Israel. He highlighted the resilience of Iran's political system, arguing that it does not depend on individuals and would continue to function even with the loss of its highest-ranking leaders.

The military operation by the US and Israel against Iran began on February 28 and is now in its third week, marked by continuous exchanges of strikes. Tel-Aviv has stated its goal is to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Washington has threatened to destroy Iran's military capabilities and called for citizens to overthrow the regime. Iran maintains it is prepared to defend itself and currently sees no point in resuming negotiations.
