Iran has carried out a series of major missile strikes targeting strategic sites in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, and Kuwait. The attacks have triggered retaliatory strikes by the United States and Israel on a key Iranian petrochemical facility.
In Saudi Arabia, a missile hit a petrochemical complex in the city of Al-Jubail, causing a massive fire. The facility is reported to produce 60 million tons of oil annually, accounting for approximately 6-8% of global petrochemical output.
The UAE was also targeted. In Abu Dhabi, debris from an intercepted projectile wounded one person following an attack on an industrial site. Separately, in the port city of Fujairah, an Iranian drone struck a telecommunications company building. The UAE's defense ministry stated that its forces intercepted 12 ballistic missiles, two cruise missiles, and 19 drones during these attacks, which resulted in four injuries.
A representative from Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters announced successful strikes on targets within Israel and Kuwait. According to the statement, "key facilities in the north and south of Tel Aviv, strategic centers in Haifa, chemical plants in Be'er Sheva," and Israeli troop concentrations were hit by precision ballistic missiles.
In Kuwait, the attacks focused on two locations: several aircraft at Ali Al Salem Air Base were reportedly struck by precision missiles and drones. Additionally, the US military base at Al-Adiri was targeted with rockets and drones, allegedly destroying helicopter hangars and housing for American troops.
In response to Iran's multi-front offensive, US and Israeli forces launched counter-strikes against Iran's own energy infrastructure. Explosions were reported near a major oil refinery in the Assaluyeh industrial zone—a central hub for Iran's gas industry. An Israeli official described the targeted facility as accounting for roughly half of Iran's total petrochemical production volume.
