President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received a report on the criminal situation in Kazakhstan and the progress in implementing his instructions to ensure public safety and order.

According to the report, the overall crime rate in Kazakhstan decreased by 8% in the first two months of 2026. This represents approximately 1,300 fewer crimes compared to the same period last year. Officials noted a reduction across major crime categories and an increase in case clearance rates.

The fight against cyber fraud remains a systemic priority. Through preventive measures and cooperation with foreign law enforcement agencies, the number of cybercrimes has been reduced by 4%.

In combating organized crime, authorities have brought criminal charges against 71 members of organized criminal groups and dismantled the activities of 11 such gangs.

The campaign against drug-related crime is also active: five drug laboratories have been liquidated. This prevented over 881.5 kilograms of various narcotic substances, including more than 104 kilograms of synthetic drugs, from entering illegal circulation.

Tokayev was also briefed on expanding digital solutions for maintaining public order on streets and ensuring road safety, as well as measures to strengthen migration control and guarantee the inevitability of punishment.

Legislative initiatives aimed at protecting citizens were highlighted separately. In 2025, the Law "On Offense Prevention" was adopted. It established criminal liability for money muling (dropping), stalking, and forced marriage.

Following the meeting, the Head of State issued several instructions aimed at further strengthening public safety and law enforcement in the country.
