Kazakh FM Discusses Middle East Crisis with Central Asian, Azerbaijani Counterparts

On March 2, 2026, Kazakhstan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yermek Kosherbayev, held a telephone conversation with his counterparts from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
The ministers engaged in a detailed exchange of views on the evolving military-political situation in the Middle East. They emphasized the necessity of maintaining close coordination and prompt interaction amid the ongoing crisis.
Minister Kosherbayev expressed gratitude to his colleagues from Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan for their constructive cooperation regarding evacuation efforts.
The diplomats reaffirmed their shared commitment to resolving the current situation exclusively through political and diplomatic means. They stressed the importance of de-escalating tensions, adhering to international law norms, and uniting efforts to uphold regional security, peace, and stability.
Concluding the call, the parties expressed readiness to continue providing necessary support for organizing potential citizen evacuations and to maintain close working-level contacts between their foreign ministries.
