@МИД РК
On March 25, 2026, Kazakhstan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yermek Kosherbayev, held a telephone conversation with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The ministers discussed the current situation in the Middle East, exchanging views against the backdrop of ongoing regional tensions. Minister Kosherbayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan's position, as previously stated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He expressed concern over the continuing escalation in the region, including strikes on UAE territory.
Kazakhstan's stance is against drawing neutral states into military conflicts and considers violations of sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries in the region unacceptable. The need for a swift de-escalation and a transition to a political-diplomatic settlement of the crisis based on international law was emphasized.
Turning to bilateral cooperation, Kosherbayev noted that the UAE is one of Kazakhstan's key partners in the region, with traditionally fraternal relations linking the two nations. The Kazakh Foreign Minister thanked his Emirati counterpart for assistance in evacuating Kazakh citizens who were on UAE territory. Ensuring their safety and return home was described as a priority task for Kazakhstan.
Both ministers highlighted the high level of political dialogue and mutual support between their countries on the international stage. In turn, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan thanked Kazakhstan for its support and underscored the importance of international efforts aimed at ensuring regional stability and security.
Following their discussion, both sides confirmed their readiness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and continue coordinating actions within international and regional organizations.
