Mohammad Darwish, who heads the leadership council of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, has dispatched a detailed report on the status of the Gaza ceasefire to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

The letter, sent on Sunday, began with Darwish extending congratulations to Araghchi for the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan and wishes for Iran's prosperity.

Darwish asserted Hamas's full adherence to the ceasefire agreement with Israel while cataloging what he described as clear and blatant violations by the occupying entity. The listed breaches encompass daily assaults on Palestinian areas, the ongoing killing of Palestinians—with a specific mention of women and children—and the continued detention of Palestinians.

Further violations highlighted in the communication include severe restrictions on humanitarian aid entering Gaza, obstruction of operations at the Rafah border crossing and the movement of Palestinian citizens, and prevention efforts aimed at reconstructing vital infrastructure.

Concluding his letter, Darwish emphasized an urgent need for mediators and the international community to exert serious pressure. He called for compelling Israel to honor its commitments, which he outlined as: an immediate end to killings and rights violations; adherence to humanitarian aid provisions; lifting restrictions at Rafah; allowing fuel and reconstruction equipment into Gaza; observing humanitarian rules; and ceasing torture and mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners.

Since taking effect in early 2025, reports indicate that Israeli forces have breached the Gaza ceasefire agreement hundreds of times through airstrikes and ground attacks across the Strip.
