President Tokaev Meets Georgian Interior Minister to Strengthen Security Ties

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan held a meeting with Georgia's Minister of Internal Affairs, Gela Geladze, to discuss key areas of bilateral cooperation in law enforcement and crime prevention.

The President emphasized that Georgia is a significant and reliable partner for Kazakhstan in the South Caucasus region. He highlighted that the relationship between the two nations, which has deep historical roots, has stood the test of time.

In turn, Minister Geladze briefed President Tokayev on the work of Georgian law enforcement agencies in ensuring the safety of foreign tourists, including citizens of Kazakhstan.

The Ministries of Internal Affairs of both countries intend to strengthen cooperation in several critical areas. These include combating organized crime, drug trafficking, cybercrime, and extremism. The partnership will also focus on exchanging best practices and joint personnel training programs.

Concluding the meeting, President Tokayev conveyed his greetings to Georgian President Mikhail Kavaleishvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
