Germany Extradites Fraud Suspect to Kazakhstan After Decade-Long International Manhunt
@TengriNews
Kazakhstan has secured the extradition of a foreign national from Germany, a suspect in a major fraud case involving $1 million. The individual had been evading justice for over ten years.
According to investigative findings, in 2014, the suspect, acting as part of an organized group, allegedly defrauded a Kazakhstani entrepreneur. The scheme involved promising assistance with the supply of computer equipment to illicitly obtain the funds.
Following the crime, the accused fled the country, prompting authorities to place him on an international wanted list. His run ended in September 2025 when he was detained by German law enforcement.
The operation to return him for criminal prosecution was conducted by officers from Kazakhstan's General Prosecutor's Office and Interpol, with support from the Kazakh embassy in Germany.
The suspect is now in a pre-trial detention center. He faces charges that could result in a prison sentence of up to 10 years with confiscation of property.
