Kazakh boxing legend Gennady Golovkin has exercised his civic duty by voting in the national constitutional referendum while abroad. The former world champion and current President of Kazakhstan's National Olympic Committee participated in the vote at a polling station set up at the Kazakh diplomatic mission in Bangkok, Thailand.
Golovkin is in the Thai capital to participate in the international World Boxing Futures Cup 2026 tournament. During his visit, he made time to visit the embassy's polling station to cast his ballot on the proposed new Constitution for Kazakhstan.
The athlete emphasized the fundamental importance of citizen participation in making significant decisions for the country. He highlighted the role of this nationwide referendum in shaping the future development and strengthening of the state.

The referendum is being held across Kazakhstan on March 15th, with polling stations open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM local time. Some territorial commissions may adjust these hours for voter convenience.
The ballot contains a single, straightforward question for voters: "Do you accept the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the draft of which was published in mass media on February 12, 2026?"
