Major European agricultural companies are preparing to establish production facilities in Kazakhstan, leveraging the country's strategic location and vast land resources to serve their existing Chinese clientele. This move is largely driven by disruptions in traditional transit routes through Russia to China, prompting European firms to seek alternative production hubs.

According to industry analysis, these foreign investors plan to cultivate crops using their proprietary genetics and seeds within Kazakhstan. The resulting agricultural products would then be exported to China under the label of Kazakhstani origin. This strategy allows companies to circumvent logistical challenges while capitalizing on Kazakhstan's favorable trade relations and geographic position in Central Asia.

The appeal of Kazakhstan extends beyond logistics. European businesses are increasingly drawn to the country's extensive, untouched arable land. This stands in contrast to growing environmental concerns in Europe, including climate change effects and soil degradation, making Kazakhstan's agricultural potential more attractive for long-term investment.

The investment scope is expected to be significant. Experts anticipate the initial phase will involve establishing processing capacities, such as feed mills and plants for deep processing of wheat and corn, potentially through joint ventures involving Chinese and European partners like Hungarian companies. The logical next step would then be the localized production of the raw agricultural materials themselves.

Interest is not limited to crop production. A global leader from China's dairy industry has expressed serious investment interest in Kazakhstan. The focus would be on deep processing of milk, integrating production with local raw material bases, and forming stable, end-to-end supply chains within the region.
