Kazakhstan's Minister of Industry and Construction, Yersain Nagaspayev, has held a series of meetings with German officials to strengthen industrial and investment ties. Discussions focused on expanding trade, economic links, and strategic joint projects.
In talks with Gunther Krichbaum, the State Minister for Europe at Germany's Federal Foreign Office, the parties emphasized the strategic importance of bilateral cooperation. Germany remains one of Kazakhstan's key European partners.
Nagaspayev also met with Eric Beisswenger, the State Minister for European and International Affairs of Bavaria. The minister highlighted that approximately 90% of German investments in Kazakhstan are directed into the manufacturing sector. Over 1,100 enterprises with German capital are currently operating successfully in the country.
"Bavaria is an industry leader, and we are extremely interested in deepening industrial cooperation, technology transfer, and creating joint 'German clusters' based on our special economic zones," stated Yersain Nagaspayev. "Kazakhstan has 17 such zones where investors are granted significant benefits and preferences. We invite Bavarian businesses to actively engage in the work of our SEZs."
The parties signed a memorandum of intent to establish a working group for economic, scientific, and agricultural cooperation between the Government of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Free State of Bavaria.
Following the meetings, both sides expressed confidence in a swift transition to the practical implementation of new joint projects. Leading German companies from Bavaria, including Siemens, Knauf Group, Horsch, Linde Group, and Airbus, continue to strengthen their presence on the Kazakh market.
